I was kind of dreading this week since the majority of my friends had spring break last week, but of course, being home in itself has made this week awesome. My mom had a Stampin' Up party on Tuesday. It was really a funny group: her quilting friends, my sister in laws, their family members and some other random friends were all there. Now, I am not all that into Stampin' or whatever. I mean, I'm a college student. Who has time for that? But....the last three days I have been making cards. Yup, I said it. I stamped. Does this make me old?
Tomorrow I am going to the zoo with my two sister-in-law's, Ashley and Leisa, as well as their two beautiful kids. I. CAN'T. WAIT. Here's a picture of the two chilluns, since I know you all want to see them. :)
Now, Really. Who wouldn't love some of that?!
Well, the rest of my spring break has been spent reading a book that Livada sent us interns to read before we head over to Romania this summer. Titled "The Hole in Our Gospel" by Richard Stearns. I am not going to give the story away, but let me tell you....this book is incredible! It is challenging, exciting and terrifying. In short it tells of Richard, the former CEO of Lenox...some china ware company. Making an incredible amount of money, God called him to step down and become the president of World Vision. He talks about how he was scared to go help this Christian charity because he was afraid of seeing poverty. I am not finished with this book...but this part has definitely hit me. I love people of other nations...I have been plenty of places. But, this compares to nothing. I have not seen poverty like Richard is talking about and I think that has to do with the Hole in the American, and even my, Gospel. I do not like to speak of poverty, because frankly it scares me. What I think of "poor" in America is so different than what poverty is in the rest of the world. I say I am a "poor" college student, but I have a roof over my head, food to eat and a car that runs great! Is this really poor? No. So all this to say, I am challenged to reach those around me. Not just the poor, but everyone. To serve. To love. To care. And ya know what? It's going to be hard. But this is The Great Adventure...right?

Well, I apologize for the lengthy post. If you made it this far, thank you. You rock. Now join me and go serve. Love. And go read The Hole In Our Gospel. :)
P.S. I am going to pick up my blogging the next few months as an attempt to get it ready for updates for Romania this summer!
